Interesting Coincidence
Interesting Coincidence
Hello everyone.
I have a friend who is very dear to me, and whose drinking makes me look like an amateur drunk. She has tried several times to quit over the past couple of years, but has had much difficulty staying with it.
Long story short, I hadn't seen her since the party which preceded my decision to quit last Friday, and we got together for breakfast yesterday. Not knowing yet that I had quit, she told me that she had quit again-- on Friday! So we have the same sober date.
I hope that, between the two of us, we can find ways to encourage each other. Her ideas about support are different from mine, but I hope to find some common ground where we can offer help to one another.
Anyway, I just thought that was kind of cool

Hi Laura, and welcome!
I think this is in the Big Book somewhere but I'm not so good at that part yet...but I heard this more than once and find it to be true...There are no mistakes in God's world.
Blessings,
Annie

I hope you and your friend are still at it. It would be great to have that support. I met an old drinking buddy in the mall today and we walked by our old drinking hole. He tried to get me to go in but I didn't give in. I am sure it will be easy to make it through the rest of the day. Post and let us know you are still with us. I also have the same quit date so we can all do this together. There are a lot of us Jan 10'thers.
