I relapsed
I relapsed
I started feeling better and I broke down. I had a bad day at work and I needed to get that euphoric feeling back.
I ****** upped.
What should I do? Is my life so bad I need to look at the alternative?

I think its natural to think we're the only ones who go through what we go through.
I found some had it better - lots had it worse.
I've never found another place like this for empathy tho.
You relapsed. We've all done it (99% of us anyway).
Start again.

Hi Danielson. I am sorry that you are having a difficult time, but you can quit.
Chiynita's signature quote is one that I am trying to live these days. Surrounded by so many people who are better off than I am, it didn't take much to make me feel rotten, then I wanted a drink.
So I am trying really hard to remember that while I don't have as much as these other people, I do have this one life, this one life that is mine alone. I have made lots of mistakes (like taking that first drink after I told myself I wanted to quit). and I am sure I will make other mistakes (hopefully no more drinking ones), but focusing on my one, only life--with whatever it contains--is really helping me to not take that first drink: what I am and have is enough, and enjoying it is the next step.

Guess I shoulda posted what I posted on this thread and not the other one
Hope you're still hanging out with us tonight..doesn't seem like you're that 'euphoric' now. That's the sh** part of it.
Fresh start tomorrow!

Danielson,
I'm sorry that you're struggling, and I'm sorry you felt the need to pick that bottle back up.
What I think you need to do now is decide - right now, tonight - are you ready to quit once and for all? Are you committed to staying sober, no matter how hard you might have to fight to stay that way? Can you honestly say that from now on you want to stay sober more than you want to drink?
I'm not sure what alternative you're considering looking at, but drinking won't fix what is hurting you. All it will do is give you a temporary mask that is incredibly painful to take off.
Let us know how we can help you think this through.

Suicide is not the answer, my friend did not take his meds years ago and ended his life on Earth, the only time i felt like doing this was when i was drinking. A few times i flipped out drinking and though of these choices that would impact the world around me, remember that these thoughts and decisions will inpact you and others so make the good one and hold out on any hurtful feelings my friend.
And if not.. I'm sure a lot of people here (myself included) would be happy to talk to you, here, on the phone, thru an instant messaging program... I have ***** and MSN..

I was doing so good.
I don't know how much longer I can keep the fight going.
I'm sure I'll be OK tomorrow.
