XABF Just Contacted Me

I am absolutely stunned that my XABF just e-mailed me. As most of you know, I've had no contact with him for 3 months. In the 3 months that we have had no contact he has found someone else and is engaged to her and maybe even married by now? In his e-mail he was very nice and told me that he was moving ( i assume to Washington to be with his fiancee ....not sure as I have cut off contact with all of our mutual friends) and that he had some things of my that I had left at his house and that he wanted to make sure that I got them back. I thought about just telling him to throw them away, but I do need to get the shelving system back that I use for my job. Do you think that there is anything wrong with me going and getting my stuff back? Or should I just take the loss and tell him to throw them away? I'm freaked out right now and feeling very nervous. Help....

Funny how they can find another "victim" so quick huh?

Anyways - is there anyway at all he could leave your stuff somewhere and NOT be there when you come to get it? I know for me - I took a loss on a few things because it wasn't worth it to me to deal with him anymore. It would have set me back in my recovery.

I'm sure others will be along shortly with more ideas.

Hang in there.

I had the same question as Anvilhead.

You weren't expecting to hear back from him, ever, were you? (sounds like not)

So you weren't expecting to get that shelving back......was that okay with you then? What's changed?

Hugs,
GL

OK....I know what the deal is. His house was foreclosed on this week. I called my old neighbor and asked him and he told me. I asked my old neighbor if he could store my stuff until I could come get it and he said he would. So, that is that. I'm not going to see my XABF, just e-mail him back and tell him to leave anything of mine that I left from my move out at the neighbors. Thanks for the support.

You know what guys......I just called my neighbor back and told him to forget it. My XABF just inherited around $3000 worth of stuff including my awesome catalog storage shelving system. I'm not responding to him...i deleted the e-mail. I will not bring my neighbor into the middle of this again. I had accepted the loss earlier when I moved out and will just keep accepting it. I will not endanger my recovery path by letting this situation get in my way. DELETE DELETE DELETE.

Wow......now he's calling me....he must have gotten my new # from one of our mutual friends. He's now called twice. Interesting.

Interesting indeed. What new form of quackage does he have in mind? Was the "come get your stuff" line a clever lead-in to some choice manipulation?
Busy day for you!
