help...
I'm new and not real sure what a thread is all about..
I tried getting sober @ age 30, now i'm 46..I know in my brain alot of recovery but i'm missing something??
To give you an idea my last sponsor told me if i'm not in one of the 9 principles of aa (??) i'm in self will. she said i don't have a program i constantly ask to many questions and use bits and pieces of everyone else's program. That i am not teachable, i have no humility, my mind is killing me. I'm not my own person-bits and pieces of everyone else?
I'm a vagabon.
Well i've lost everything, no serenity, peace, or inspiration.
Does anyone have any ideas? thank you..

Well, what did your last sponsor say about those principles? I honestly have never heard the phrase "principles of AA" until just now. I did find this though:
A.A. History - The AA Principles and Virtues
Have you been to any meetings lately? If not why not? Do you have a current sponsor? If not why not?
I am similar to you, I looked at AA at 27 (God how I wish that had taken root!) rejected it and came back 4 years ago. I am 47 now.

I dont know your sponsor and I probably shouldnt judge but I dont think Id ever talk to another person like that.
Maybe you should look for help elsewhere and remember you deserve to get better.

Welcome to SR,
You're not bits n pieces of every1 else. you have things in common with other people. Every1 is like that and that's what makes you your own person. I wish you luck, every1 has their own ways that help them to recover, you have to decide what helps you best and put it into action because I don't think 2 people on here use exactly the same techniques in their recovery. Try not to over think things... I know i tend to do that a lot sometimes. We're all glad to have you here.

Keep coming and keep posting. We're all vagabonds - but that is not a bad thing. We're all searchers, seekers, and discoverers. Peace... serenity...inspiration... all of these things are on the horizon. The joy is in the journey.
