Class of December for all those who got sober this month
Over in the Continuing Support forum are two threads: the class of November and the class of July, for those of us who got sober during those months. (tho there are some honorary members who started in those months but had a slip and still want to be 'classmates' or who got sober in other months but liked the company in July)
Any interest in any of our December newcomers to start such a thread? I found it helped me stay sober by having a place I could call 'home' to report my successes and questions and fears. There have been a lot of newcomers to clean and sober living this holiday month. If enough people post in such a thread, after 500 posts it would move to the continuing support thread, and could continue being a sort of 'sobriety diary'.
What you all think?

Good here, had my 2nd counseling session tonight, was a bit rough. went down "memory lane", talked about growing up etc.. Thought I was fine during the session and spend the entire drive home bawling my eyes out. That was weird, must have triggered something!
Still sober!

I should just be getting home from an AA meeting but I never made it. POS company car died on the way.
But the weird thing is about where the car died, pratically in front a bar I used to frequent. I'm on my way to a meeting and my car craps out in front of a bar. I'm trying not to read too much into that.
So after about 90 minutes on the phone with fleet management and tow company, I decided to leave the car until the morning and phoned my wife to pick me up.
A bit of weird phone conversation, "honey, you know that bar where they took my keys last summer, I'm across the street."
I had to laughed at the whole situation. So here I am and SR will have to be my meeting tonight.
End of day 23 and still sober!

I'm in..12/26 here! I'm glad it's December.I'm looking at sobriety as a Christmas gift to myself that I will be able to share with others forever. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to post here! It's a cool place to hang out!! Peace and Love...
The date was strategically chosen (dunno about you) because I knew the holidays would be ........ insane and more difficult, so I wanted to start sobriety during a really tough time, as an extra challenge. Am I a weirdo or whaaaaat?
Congrats....I'm a 12\12 guy too. Not too bad so far. Been to 13 meetings so far and they really help a lot. Tomorrow will be a test day. Playing golf with my buds who are moderate to heavy drinkers. I think I'll be fine except for some good natured ribbing. I may not golf as well for awhile cause I'm used to drinking while I play, but I'm no John Daly and he can't play sober either.

I said the best time to quit is RIGHT NOW. And you know what - I woke up and the calendar had RIGHT NOW on it. It wasn't until the next day when I saw 21 that I realized I had quit on the 20th
