Tired of the morning after!

I am new to recovery. Actually it is the first time I have admitted I have a problem with binge drinking. I am tired of waking up from a night of drinking and not knowing what I did, or only remembering parts. I decided I need help and found this site. Looking for a little support. Thank you in advance.

Welcome HH6! You've come to a great place for support and good advice. You don't ever have to go that 'morning after' hell again. Just don't drink one day at a time.

I was an all-day-every-day drinker. I've been sober for six months tomorrow, and I was a chronic relapser. So if I can stay sober one day at a time, so can anyone!

Just promise yourself, each new day, that you won't drink just for today. Come here often, read and post, and you may want to give AA a try too, as it can be most helpful in staying sober.

I was blacking out a lot when I was active. THe scary part was I was not falling down, I was walking and talking and carrying on conversations with people who did not know I was in a black out..they knew I had been drinking, but not to what extent. It is so scary what we might do in that state...drive? call someone up and say god knows what, spend scary amounts of money..you never know what could happen and be glad you are ok and you are here. You don't have to live like that. Be glad you are here to tell it, I know I am.
It will be ok.
