What are the responsibilities of a sponsee? (STRICTLY NA)

I recently picked up a temporary sponsor who has celebrated 12 years clean yesterday.

My problem is, I have no idea what my responsibilities as a sponsee are. I picked up step working guides, and have started working the first step. A lot of writing involved, but I'm not really having any questions as of right now. I have no idea when I should call a sponsor, because I have no intentions (as of right now) to use. I know that a sponsor is someone to guide you through the steps, help give advice and their ES&H, and someone to call if you're struggling...

But as of now, I'm quite content with working on my recovery. I have no desire to pick up, and I'm really working on JFT.

So what are my duties as a sponsee? Should I call him daily and let him know where I'm at? Let him know how the step is going? Tell him if I'm feeling a certain way? Any input?

A good place to start might be asking him how he works with his sponsees.

Peace & Love,

That would indeed be a good place. See, they gave me quite the education at Greenbriar about how the program works, but they were so ******* vague about how a sponsee should go about things. Thank you, Sugah!

Stay clean, that's #1, right?

As time passes you will learn more about how your sponsor operates. Ask him/her the same question you posed here.

Keep coming back!
