Nightly meetings in chat, feel free to drop by.
Greetings everyone, fellow people in recovery and so on. You all know me as Paulos, I was once a crier on this site I will admit... and I'm still not perfect. I just wanted to announce that I'll be hosting a nightly ANTI ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ADDICTION meeting *if this is alright with the mods* in the chat, 9pm eastern in the MEETING ROOM.
Why? I want to make people feel comfortable, give some hope, and just try to assist those who need it because I know we need it... we all need each other. I will be there as much as I can for the people of SR. I will not lie, I didn't gain recovery from SR, I didn't gain sobriety from it but I gained some friends and people who wanted to listen to me and care... some did not, while many did. Therefore if you wish to come to my nightly meeting by all means, come to the chat room at 9pm eastern, I will be there nightly to help out.
I hope to see you there, I hope I can give you hope and we can all exist together in harmony, sure it sounds perhaps impossible but let's give it a try. :ghug2:ghug3

Isn't the UK like 5 hours ahead of my Eastern Time... that would be like 9pm right now... and I gained recovery from realizing it was time to stop, looked at myself in the mirror, and with sure will power I got rid of booze... even with having alcohol all around the house since I live with a drinker... 176 days sober, so you see... there is no actual recovery since we're all slaves to our addictions, but I am not a slave to life.

Oh-there IS recovery-and willpower didn't work for me.Surrender did though. But I'm glad for you that's what works.Whatever it takes to get and remain sober.
I just got 6 months sober-but I'd never claim to have done it without the support I got here-especially if I was hosting chat meetings because of the grace of the good people here.We don't do this alone. We can't.I would never have made it this far without the people here who reached out to me.I doubt you would have either.Gratitude is so important.
Just a thought.
Jules.

Paulos...I just want to say how proud I am of you! You have come a long way in your recovery since we first started talking (in chat mostly). Whatever you are doing seems to be working.....keep moving forward in recovery! I am so glad to see and hear of your willingness to give back/try to help others. You inspire me!
