New to this site...& recovery AGAIN!

Hi everyone. Just found this site last night (1st day of sobriety) and want to get active. Been reading a lot about all you all and know where everyone is coming from. A little about me... my first intro to recovery was 21 years ago and it's been a roller-coaster ride since then. Have maintained adstinence for no longer that 9 months and have gone in and out of the rooms of AA for years. Now I'm too ashamed to go back after re-treading so often. Have a really good friend who is helping (has 15 years sober) so that's a plus.

For some reason all the hopelessness I felt yesterday doesn't seem so big today with knowing I am not alone! Thanks for being here!

Nope you're definitely not alone, and there is no shame in returning to AA. Those folks have seen so many people leave and die that they're thrilled when someone makes it back in alive.

I'm glad you have that friend there to help you too. This is something I couldn't do alone either -- I'm so grateful for the help on this forum and the help in AA too.

Thanks for posting and don't stop!

hi nicki and welcome!
no you are definitely not alone..we have all been there...that first day! i have found alot of useful info on this site and i don't know where i would be without aa..and as clutch said....aa's are always welcoming. i have seen many people come & go since i first entered the rooms of aa and am so happy when i see them come back!
best of luck to you, sounds like you have a good friend for support. i know without the support of my husband, daughter, my sponsor and all of the wonderful folks here & in the rooms it would be a very daunting task to stay sober.
Keep coming back!!!
Lisa
