Cool The Truth About Getting High abd Drunk

I did not know where to put this so I decided that this forum would be the right place just so more might see it.

In surfing the net about "truth" I found this interesting article that might help bring some clarity to some here. It is about the spiritual aspect of addiction. Not all will want to read or think about what it says because of the mention of God in the text but for those who don't mind the mention of God here is the link:

Well I figure that for most addicts getting high and drunk is a form of worship so why not think about changing religions?

Boy - what a rant! I actually couldn't get through the whole thing word for word - sorry.

But I appreciate the general idea (as I understand it) that our consumer society is what drives us to despair. Which in turn drives us to seek solace in altered states. Therefore, we should reject our consumer society and craft a society that is more loving and kind. Which will eventually led to less need for altered states.

Is that generally what you get from the article? Did it ring true to you and that's why you wanted to share it?

The more spiritually sensitive a person is, the greater the high, but also the greater the "comedown".
To me this is why it is so difficult for some to get themselves clean. Because the comedown is so harsh they feel the only solution is to get high again and keep the cycle going. The "system" of the world depends on the most intelligent, creative, and spiritually evolved ones remaining addicted. They are the ones with the real power to change things so, keep them beat down and seduced by keeping them addicted by giving them false solutions.
