Prayer List......post here.
I thought it might be nice to have one spot that we can look through and send out our thoughts and/or prayers to those family and friends of alcoholics.
Could you please keep my husband and I in your thoughts during the beginning of his recovery. I need the understanding during these days to cope. Thank you.:praying

My Favorite Prayer, slightly Modified for my "Big Lebowski" frame of mind:
Dude, make me a channel of thy peace;
that where there is hatred, I may bring love;
that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness;
that where there is discord, I may bring harmony;
that where there is error, I may bring truth;
that where there is doubt, I may bring faith;
that where there is despair, I may bring hope;
that where there are shadows, I may bring light;
that where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Dude, grant that I may seek rather to comfort than to be comforted;
to understand, than to be understood;
to love, than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life.
Amen.
Remember,
The Dude Abides
I will keep you two in my prayers, as well as AmpHusky and his ex, Despair and his ex, me and My ex (may she find joy, love and peace, she deserves it), and everyone suffering on and off these boards

Wonderful idea. I go to a weekly prayer group and we all join in prayers for all on SR site, plus I offer a weekly mass for them. I know some don't believe in either God and/or religion, but I do, and it is one way I can give support to everyone here. You and your hubby are on my daily prayer list as well.
God bless

I heard a sermon once... the Lord blesses all his children. These blessings are like waves. One hits you, then another, then another... and they'll never stop.
My family would appreciate your prayers as well.

This is not a prayer but a song (from my church) that sort of says what I think we all here at SR want.
WE'LL BUILD A LAND
We'll build a land where we'll bind up the broken
We'll build a land where the captives go free
Where the oil of gladness dissolves all mourning.
Oh, we'll build a promised land that can be.
Come build a land where sisters and brothers,
Inspired by love, may then create peace:
Where justice shall roll down like waters,
And peace like an ever flowing stream.

We'll build a land where the captives go free

Where justice shall roll down like waters,
And peace like an ever flowing stream.

Thank you for this thread. I do think of all of you when I pray.
Please keep my household in mind also.
Youngest son graduating from high school this year, AH was crying looking at the senior picture proofs yesterday. He goes from this to ranting about how the kid is not meeting his expectations. I am trying not to project into the future, (huge problem for me) but AH was newly sober when oldest son graduated and it was awful. I needed daily Alanon .....
The Serenity prayer has been helpful for me, I plan to use it often.
