Under the Influence

I keep hearing lots of praise on SR for the book Under the Influence. For some reason the county libraries don't have it where I live, so I went to Amazon.com and bought the book used for .01 plus 3.99 shipping/handling. It may not be a new book, but it sounds like it is worth reading. I look forward to reading it soon. Just thought I'd pass that along!

Please consider using the eating plan and supplements
recommended in "Under The Influence"

I did for about 6 months and I think that helped me
immensley with my cravings. I really felt healthy too!

The part that explained my liver and brain enzymes
were not working correctly...Eureka!
For me...it made total sense and I did quit drinking then.

Yes.. I have been suggesting this book to anyone who
is interested in alcoholism/recovery since '89.

I've not read the sequel..."Beyond The Influence" so
can't comment on it...tho I understand it's equally good.

....We also have excerpts from "Under The Influence"
in our Alcoholism Forum.
It's the 2nd sticky post.

Eclipse,

It IS a good book. It was the first recovery-style book I bought, and I read it cover to cover in less than half a day. You and I have a lot in common, so I think it's safe for me to say you will be able to relate to A LOT of what's in the book.

Might I also recommend Sober for Good. I haven't yet read Beyond the Influence but if it's a follow-up to Under the Influence I believe it's worth a read.

Let me know what you think of it! Sounds like you got a good deal on it.

I was given a copy and started to read it. Somehow it got lost in the events. I'm heading out on the road tonight, I'll be sure and take it with me. Maybe I can get some reading time in on the side.

Thanks Eclipse,

Ed

I hope you get your book soon.
I purchased my at a book store for 7.99 less member discount.
I committed major library foul with my copy. I've turned down pages. In fact, my copy looks like I turned down every third page!

Let us know what you think of the book.
