Please pray for my daughter's cat
Please pray for my daughter's cat
He's peeing blood on the floor again and I just called the vet. I'm bringing him out there, and if I have to make payment arrangements and ask daughter to help with money, I will. He's too young to just put to sleep. I know he's her responsibility but I'm caring for him in her absence and cannot let him die. I love him too. It hurts me too to see him straining and crying in pain. I want him to get well before I try to hash out payment details.

Sending good thoughts to you and the kitty!
My friend's cat has suffered the same problems, but has lived to be a ripe old age. A special diet and keeping an eye on him can keep it at bay. Good luck at the vet!

Hi Least,
Prayers going out to you and the kitty. My female cat was doing exactly the same thing last week. It turned out to be a bladder infection and she's on antibiotics now (for the third time since June!). It's good that you're getting him to the vet now (urinary problems can be more urgent in male cats as I'm sure you know). Keep us posted when you get back!

Vet called me with good news. It's not an infection putting blood in his urine, it's the lots and lots of 'crystals' in his bladder. Vet said the shape of crystals (like a crystal of salt) tears up the bladder, hence the bloody urine. He's home right now (the bill wasn't as bad as I expected) and is on a special diet to dissolve the crystals, and after a vet visit in a few months, if the crystals are gone he'll be put on a diet to keep the crystals from forming. So he's home again, didn't have to stay overnight, and has plenty of his new food, both canned and dry.
Thank you all for your prayers. I'm sure God intervened on his behalf. He cares about all His creations, including daughter's cat.
Thank you again!

That's great news, Least! My male cat had the same thing last spring (I know, am I like a repository for vet stories, or what?). He's eating Royal Canin Urinary SO now and he's been fine since. In fact, he's like the happiest cat in the world.
Least-
Sorry I got here so late- I'm glad that your daughter's kitty is doing well. I have three myself, mother and her two remainng sons. She had 4 kittens, One I had to have put down as a kitten (encephalitus, brain swelling- poor thing couldn't even walk to the food dish and litter box.) Another one went insane when I was moving. I would visit every day at the old house with fresh water and food, then one day I found him dead in the basement. I really don't know what happened to him or why.
I'm glad everything worked out. Give the kitty a hug for me!
Blessing be,
BHJ
