So~~How would you handle this situation

I'm having wrist surgery next Friday and my sons b'day is Nov. 2nd. I know I won't be up to much on that date so we invited him out to dinner this coming Sat. He said OK~~~ So, todays Thursday and Duey and I both have called him and left messages on his phone. He hasn't returned either of our calls yet. I was going to get him a ski package at a great place close to were he lives but I figured I had better talk to him about it first. Just to make sure he wanted to take up skiing again......which he always loved to do.Should I continue to call him (which I don't what to now that I'm getting concerned~ upset~~pis%$# offabout)) or not. Dare these kids with their selfish mindsets..Chris told me last week-end that I would love the place we're going to cause its high on a hill in Salamanca and the view will be beautiful..I know your all going to tell me not to call him but I need to hear that so I don't pick up the phone again.. Thanks!! Bonnie

okay, Bonnie...don't call him

It's just getting you upset, and he probably doesn't even have a clue.

I know you're concerned and worried, (and mad) but I'm realizing it's not just A's who do this. After trying to get hold of my boss for THREE days, and finally given up, 2 days later he asks "well, why didn't you call me?"

Today I tried calling him again but he is off for 2 days.

I know it's different when it's your son and he an A, but one of my friends does the same thing.

Let it go, sweetie, and go to dinner without him if you don't hear from him...you deserve it!

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

My daughter's boyfriend is not an addict but when she calls him he does not always pick up the phone and call back right away. So just because Chris has not called you back does not mean he won't. Hugs, Marle

I say you dont call - still go to lovely dinner yourselves even if he doesnt come - put some McDonald's gift certificates in a birthday card and feel good that you gave him a birthday dinner. If he cant even return your phone calls you should plan your own ski trip instead of giving him one.

Winnie~~I like your attitude. I had to chuckle there with the McDonald gift certificates and US going skiing. Its been years since I've been on skiies and that would be some visual......me~~ falling down all the way to the bottom of the hill......I needed that laugh. Thanks, Bonnie

I wouldn't call either but make the trip for dinner. The view from there is beautiful and you can always stop at the casino on the way. We've eaten there once and during the summer stop for a drink now and then. Years ago they used to have a small amusement park up there and a cable car to get up to the top. Go have fun and I do like the McDonald's idea.

Geezzzz Baxter~~ We do have to get together sometime. Seems like we pass at all these places. The restaurant is the "Red Garter""...Is that the one you are talking about?? I have never been there. Thanks, Bonnie

Why yes it is the Red Garter. It is in a beautiful area. My husband and I like to go to the casino, used to be way to often, but we enjoy it once every few months. We do go to the reservation in Steamburg to get gas and cigarettes and once in awhile go to the Red Garter, more so in the summer.

Just were out your way to Cassadaga Legion last weekend and this weekend we have to stop at the WitchKitch, not my favorite spot, and drop some papers off. We don't live too far apart.
