Well I am at 3 days now without a drink, I managed to watch the hockey game last night without drinking which I think is the first time i've done that in a few years.

I found a meeting in my town tomorrow and am going to it, I live in a small town so I am sure I will know some of the other people there. I have quit drinking before but I could never make it past the 2 week mark, I would also give in on the Friday of the 2nd week so this will be the test. I am glad that I found a meeting and am excited to go instead of nervous as I was in the past.

Good on you going to a meeting, I'm probably going to go to my first one this Sunday. The first few weeks are the hardest, but you're going to find it getting easier from here on out. Congratulations, fellow canuck.

It is hard to quit something that you are used to doing for fun and in hard times too. Recovery is fun and and it's the best place to be if you are having a hard time getting past 2 weeks. Just go hard, and strong, give it your all if you are comitted to sobriety.
