Im New to SoberRecovery
Hello my name is Heather. I am new here to this site and not really sure what to think yet. I am looking for a place to talk and make new sober friends, a place where I can talk about what is going on in my life and hopefully make friends that will help me to stay clean and sober. Just wanted to introduce myself, and say hello. I have been clean since July 25 of this year, everyday is a struggle but I am sure in time it will become easier. I hope others are doing well in their recovery.
Hi Heather! Welcome to SR! Congrats on your clean time. I am a mom of 2 who has been clean since January. It isn't quite a daily struggle for me anymore, but I still have thoughts of using. welcome and looking forward to getting to know you better.

Thankyou all for your support, sorry still getting used to the site. To answer ones question about how I am staying sober, I am currenting attending a 3 hour a day outpatient treatment, and I have almost completed it. It has been a great help for me, and also I try to keep myself really busy so I do not have as much time to think about using. It is still really hard but I am getting by one day at a time. I still have cravings and stuff but i get by.

Hello,I am also a newbie here, so I'm not sure where I'm supposed to start on the site. So I hope I'm not hitchhiking on someone elses post or anyhthing. I guess I'm here in hopes of getting some suggestions maybe, and alittle support from someone who knows where I'm at. I am actually 2 1/2 years sober from one drug, but in the last year have become dependant on another. I was given vicodan by my doctor about a year ago and I'm not only still taking them but have increased my dosage. I'm wondering since the vicodan is a different drug then I used to do, how do I go about it? Cold turkey? I hear the first few days to a good week or so are going to be very hard. I have to be honest with all you good people, I have taken 2 today, but compared to my usual 8 to 10 a day, thats better. Well I could go on and on so , Any advise, suggestions, and support you could give is great. PLEASE, And THANK YOU!!!
