Hi I'm new here, and I'm an alcoholic....
Haven't had a drop of alcohol since saturday and I actually feel good. I just pray to the lord that it will last awhile this time. I would like to keep browsing threw this site before further comenting. You are all very inspiring. I will make the time for this site because I know now that I can't do it alone...I'm so greatful for another day without.........thanks again.

Welcome- SR has helped me so much. I have not had a drink in 18 days- a miracle for me- and I owe it to the support of this site- just take each day at a time- you can do it- and you will become a new person, in the best sense of the word NEW!

Shygirl I couldn't have done it without SR - I haven't attended meetings, so it was all I had - but it was enough for me. I read for months before quitting, but all the things I'd learned, even while I was still drinking, were inside me and gave me strength. I knew what to expect and was very well prepared when the difficult times came. You can come here any time of day and find comfort. Hoping to hear more from you.

Welcome to SR ShyGirl! We are glad that you are here! There is a lot of support here as you have found by reading-read some more...share with us we are here for each other. I too could not have made my life brighter without SR! This is my second family that I know I can share anything with-

After a while you'll start to feel comfortable posting and it will help you get through the bumpier days. It's day 83 for me without alcohol and I've definitely had some days that were made bearable because I was able to come here and ask questions, get support and just have a place to get stuff out. Sometimes the best support you'll feel is just being able to support others.
