Hi All,

I have an appt. this morning with a divorce attorney. Right now I am feeling confident, strong, unemotional and ready for this.

This is about my children and their safety!!!! That's why I am moving forward.

I pray I can keep my emotions in check and be firm on what I want.

I will have serenity and peace as will my children and hopefully my AH once this part of our "story" has passed......

Congrats on taking this big and necessary step. You will be able to act from a position of strength simply from gaining knowledge about what really is and what realyy can be.

Shivaya,
I am right there with you, tomorrow it should be filed and December 18th final. All I had to do is say I wanted a divorce and she raced me to filing.
If you are like me it will be unemotional at first then hit you. You will always want it to work out but when it takes your strength away you have to think about the kids and you.
Remember to talk with a few lawyers and scour the net for information for you state.
Congrates on this big step I know it was hard.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts.

The best thing I rec'd from my appt. yesterday....Peace of Mind! I now know that what I am asking for is not at all unreasonable, and that my biggest battle will be custody (whose isn't?).

I am willing to sit down with AH and a mediator, to see if we can "meet in the middle" and work this out.

This still does not seem real. I'm living in a "fog", almost on auto-pilot.

I'll keep you updated.
