I have a question

When a person constantly sighs - what might that indicate? Just sress?

Thoughts anyone?

Could be stress. When I get stressed, I tend to hold my breath for short periods without thinking about it, and then I let it out in a sigh. Sighing is also a good way to release tension from your shoulders, upper back and chest muscles. If you are clenching these muscles, fatigue may produce a sigh. Just some thoughts...try not to worry (if you are the one sighing). Take care, Jomey

Maybe feeling sad. Or feeling despair. Those are reasons I sigh, anyway.

I have a guy that sits next to me at work and when he starts sighing I ask him how is day is going and he ALWAYS goes off about what a crappy day he's having, and he can't get anyone to do what they are supposed to do, etc. I think its stress.

I tend to take deep breaths when I am stressed and let them out. Calms me down.

Maybe you are having breathing problems?
When I notice myself sighing a lot it is usually because I am holding my breath without noticing...

I concur with the breathing thing.....a sigh or yawn gets more oxegen..thus it helps to releave the stress/not breathing deep enough thing....its a good thing!
