To drink or not to drink

Here's my dilemma:
My AH drinks heavily every day. When I drink with him, we have a ton of fun. When I don't, he's irritating and, well, drunk.
What's a gal to do?
Thanks for your input.

Does that "AH" stand for Addict Husband or Alcoholic Husband? Either way, for him, drinking shouldn't be an option, if he wants to be clean and sober. Is he seriously involved in Narcotics Anonymous? Doesn't sound like it, if he's still drinking; because they advocate total abstinence of drugs and alcohol...just as Alcoholics Anonymous does.

Now, what is your "dilemma"? Are you drinking just to keep him company? Are you also drinking too much, to the point that it may be a problem for you, as well? Only you can make that decision for yourself.

Hello Room6er, welcome to SR! I'll encourage you to post this in our Friends & Family Of Alcoholics Forum, sorta like the Al-Anon room at this site. There's plenty of helpful men and women there that can probably offer you a lot more insight in matters that concern our spouses and family members.

Stick around, there's so many good things we share here every day!

Welcome to SR Room6er-Glad that you found us

Please check out our "Friends and Family Forums" and the stickies at the top of
each forum...they are filled with a wealth of information-

There is a lot of support here so please keep posting!

There is nothing you can do for him there is only something that you can do for YOU!
We cannot change people that do not have any addictions so what would make us think we can change those who do? We cannot...we can only change ourselves and learn how to set boundaries and live a healthy, happier more peaceful life.
