Welcome Keith, I am an alcoholic and have had no experience coming off pain meds. But others will be along soon to give advise.

That's right.

See a doctor, then come back and share with us on what he/she says.

Keep coming back.

Hi Keith,

Talk to your dr and get his advice on what to do.

I'm glad you're seeking help.

I'm afraid you're going to get the same suggestion from me . . . see your Doctor!!

And you have to be completely honest!!

I'm a Recovering addict/alcoholic, my DOC was pain pills. . . massive amts.

I don't own my own company, but I found many reasons myself for not getting the proper treatment. It nearly cost me my life.

Ok, so if you go into detox, you may miss about 3 - 5 days of work. Trust me, if you haven't already missed days due to your addiction, if you don't take the time to get the proper help now, you'll be missing quite a few days in the future. And you'll still be in the same boat you're in now. . .a sinking ship.

Don't spend years doing what I did. I thought I could do things my way. My way is what got me to where I was when I was close to taking my own life because I thought suicide as my only way out of the living hell I was in.

Believe me, unsupervised detox from opiates CAN be dangerous.

Please keep posting and let us know what you decide to do. We care.

God Bless,
Judy
