Thumbs up Post where you come from

I found this video of Glasgow on youtube.

I thought it would be cool if people could post their nearest cities or towns (if possible) to give people an insight into the character of where they stay.

Parts of Glasgow are a dump of course, but I wouldn't swap any of it. Well, some of it anyway.

Phoenix, Arizona is where I've lived since 1970. But I'd like to post this link to my recovery club in Scottsdale North Scottsdale Fellowship Club - Home-Home

Thanks RK, great idea!

Bellingham is a pretty cool town. It is very close to the US/Canada border. It is the most southern stop on the Alaska state ferry system. It is a college town, home to Western WA State Univ. It is a liberal town, like most of western WA, and I like it a lot. Mt. Baker is there, just an hour away for skiing, Seattle is a couple hours away, and beaches and the ocean are right here. All the college students around here annoy me sometimes, but I get through it.

I live in San Diego and it is the best city ever!
In less than an hour drive you have everything (Beaches, bays, deserts, mountains, amusements parks, pro ball parks, you name, we got it!)!
This is a fave pic of mine because you can see the snow on the mountains in our backyard and city skyline. If you look real close you can see a plane coming in to land.

I was born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I have lived in Harrisonburg and Woodstock Virginia, Kasukabe (a "bedtown" of Tokyo), Honolulu, HI, Mishima (a town within sight of Mt. Fuji), and now Yokohama.

I invite all to join us in the "Hands across time zones" thread to share and enjoy the company.

P.S. I'd love to go to Scotland. Wish I was still drinking so I could enjoy some Scottish ale:-( Guess I'll have to settle for some golf. You can keep the haggis though.

This is funny! I looked all over the internet and there are no pictures of where I live.
Severance Colorado is a dot on the map where Weld County Roads 74 and 23 intersect. We have a stop sign that nobody stops at excpt me. one corner is a vacant field another is a post office. The other two are an abandoned service station and an abandoned bar.
At last count our population was 597 people and I think only about a dozen people actually work here.
We don't have a church for some reason and the kids go to School in Windsor which is about 10 miles down the road. We have a part time Cop that the County pimps out to us for about 40 hours a week. July 4th was funny. Everybody was lighting off some major fireworks, so the Cop just said "Hell with it" and left.
It's kind of quiet here. I believe this is the America that it was intended to be.
Safe and quiet. There's only one place that I don't dare go. It's the field behind the Town Hall. A 2000 pound Limosin Bull lives there. I don't think he likes me and I have no desire to make an amend for crossing his fence.
A town with one stop sign might be a little boring to some, but this is Gods Country.
Here's a link for those with a strong stomach. Bruces Bar(now closed) put Severance on the map.
People would come from miles around to eat the Rocky Mountain Oysters. (deep fried Bull Balls)
Sunday was all you could eat for $7.50 and the place was packed.

I'm in walking distance to Detroit. Not a bad place to be if you think Polish bakeries and the occasional crime are scenic.

I live in Southern Marin County, California. 10 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge. We have mild weather and are a short distance from the mountains, beaches, redwoods and vineyards.

Great idea for a thread!

Couldn't find anything on youtube of the area I'm in specifically-so I thought I'd post a few 'specific' pics I have anyway.

I live in New Zealand-in an area that is a designated Rainforest.I love it.Here's a few very 'local' pics of my neighbourhood really...

My dog in our backyard

The view from our deck

Walking down our street.Me with the dog and some friends.

I'd never live anywhere else really!

Hey, bet you didn't know we have another connection besides the same number of days without yeast excrement. Did you know the Golden Gate Bridge was built with steel from my hometown of Bethlehem? Yessireejimbob!

Of course now Bethlehem Steel is bankrupt and the old mill is being turned into a casino (the construction of which was delayed due to a, wait for it..., a lack of steel!). Oh the irony.

20 minutes west of Disneyland

Every evening at 9:32 you can hear ten to fifteen minutes of fireworks. You could see them if you climbed onto the roof.

You should try Disneyworld. You could spend a month and still not see/do everything.

I live in the land of 10,000 lakes, Minnesota! I live about 20 minutes west of Minneapolis. We have lots of small lakes with walking paths around them, we love our sports teams, although they haven't been the best for a few years. I love traveling the world, I've been to Thailand, Amsterdan, Japan, Italy, Mexico, Canada etc.. I've also visited several of our states, But I'm happy to call Minnetonka, Minnesota home.

P.S. Jules62 New Zealand is on top of my list of places to visit!

Born and raised in New Orleans.

Have lived in Memphis, TN since July 1997. It's not worth the time it would take to find pictures. :P
