21 days.....so tired
I just finished 21 days sober using AVRT. I'm finding it really easy to stay sober, but I get really tired in the middle of the day. Also, my brain fog has not lifted much yet. I'm 50 years old, and I think I need some nutritional advice. Can anyone give me some direction on how/what I should be eating, supplements to take, etc. Thanks so much for your help.
Fish Oil, B Vitamins, ginsing, maybe a daily like Centrum.
Lots of greens, fruits, a little dark chocolate (90%+ coco), whole wheat pitas, turkey, avocado and berries. Those will perk you up!
Congrats on your 3 weeks. That is great!!!

Congrats on the 21 days!!
I like to eat, more or less, like The Zone diet. Some lean protein at every meal and snack. Lots of water. I never go more than 3 hours without eating something.
Also B-complex and a multivitamin! All this keeps me pretty energetic all day.

I'm not sure what AVRT is, but I do think nutrition is very important, especially as we get older.
I eat frequent meals and snacks too. It really helps to keep my energy up. I always use lots of whole grains and small amounts of protein. It works for me.

--Protein is very important (if you eat meat, try to stay on the lean side of things).
--The more fruits and vegetables, the better.
--Don't skip meals. (I swear, almost every time I really want to drink I'm hungry.)
--Stay hydrated.
--Get as much sleep as you can. If that means taking a nap in the afternoon (and you
are able to), then do it.
If you are looking for dietary specifics, there is a lot of information to be had on the net. Google away.

Good multi-vitamin and the zone or paleo diet. After the first few days you energy should go through the roof. Try and schedule some type of physical activity during that part of the day just to get through it. If you know you will be tired at 2 p.m. go for a walk at 1 p.m. Also watch the caffine, you can crash up to eight hours after your last cup of coffee or tea.
