Detox Problems

I get strange convulsions whenever I give up, and my mind goes haywire and convinces me i have some brain disorder. From anyone that knows is this normal and if so how long will it last?

I mean I think I've had it for years, lived with my dad for a few years and he jokes about me glitching. I am so self unaware I didn't realise he meant literally.

Please go to your dr or an ER.

We cannot give any medical advice here.

Cool I appreciate that, just asking if anyone who went through detox had head twitches, and if so how long did it last. Not medical advice surely? They are very horrible.

Brad,

You can DIE from this....alcohol detox is much more dangerous than opiates for example.

Go to the ER now.

Everyone has given the best advice for you. Alcohol detox can be life threatening. You really need to do something asap, like now!

Ye Ok. I phoned my mother who is a occupational therapist. I told here how much I've been drinking - a bottle of vodka a night. She said if I went to ER or the doctors or whatever they'd do nothing for me. She said they don't really care about alcoholics.

That's rediculous. They do care, and they will help.

It seems to me that you have 2 choices.

1. Possibly become very sick or die
2. Seek medical attention

Your mother is wrong. Go to the ER. My mom is a nurse and often wrong.

Why take the chance of dying. Not trying to scare you, but you need to understand this is serious.

My dr. adn the ER in my town ALWAYS helped me.

If you go to ER they will at a minimum check you out and possibly give you something to make sure you don't go into a seizure. What they have done for me in the past is to hook me up with a case worker who helped me get a bed at a great place to safely detox. Please go and accept the help they will give you.
