Hello
Just wanted to say I am now on day 6 of not drinking. I sure realize how much I depended on alcohol to get rid of my problems. Its hard to deal with problems sober. It really sucks! Hopefully it gets easier. Today I am going to not drink. Not sure what I am going to do. What do people do when they are so used to drinking and getting drunk on a Saturday afternoon and right on through the nite. This is different for me.
theres so many things you can do that dont involve drinkin , movies , friends nite of coffee, hobbies , cleaing ( hey it works ) walkin is my favorite , fishing, hiking, use your clear thoughts to find things you always wanted to do but were to drunk to do them . make a list .. meetings at AA.. of fellowship BBQ's camp outs theres way lots to do ... best of luck and welcome to SR and congrats on day 6 ... and it does be easier ...
Hi notdrunk! Good work on Day 6!
Today is my 10th, so not far ahead of you. I wanted to add reading if your at home a lot. I've got two different light-reading type fiction books going - different genres so I can match my mood.
There is a ton of good information on this site. Browse around.
I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Well....
all my problems were magnified when I was a drinker.
It took some time for me to be able to
sort them out into manageable situations.
I made a list. I wrote down what I could
realstically do in the next week. took action
sometimes with success sometimes not so much...
I started to get others support ..insight and information
by asking my fellow AA members for help.
I prayed often too.
...Those problems were solved then I had new ones.
I still pray and share with others
Blessings
What do you do on Saturday if you are sober?
Whatever you did on Friday to be sober.
You have to want to stay sober
more than you want to drink

Notdrunk, welcome to this site. I've been so busy lately. Every invitation I get - I take, as long as there isn't alcohol around, can't take that yet. Been there and failed at that little test before. My house is very very clean. I write in a blog everyday. My closets are organized. I painted my living room orange last week. Sounds awful but it actually looks awesome. You'll be surprised at how much "extra" time you have. I spend more time in the office in the evening so my work is improving. This is a good way to live. A little rocky but I'm getting the hang of it. A little here, a little there. You will too. And when you don't feel so strong write on this board or just read other people's posts. People will talk you off the ceiling if you need them too.
