Dumped The Liquor Into Commode

I just had a short ceremony upon arriving home. I dumped out the last beer and the rest of the liquor into the commode. that's an appropriate place for it!

I kind've wanted a drink, but it passed. I didn't buy any crack and I felt really good visiting with my kids tonight....and when I got home i felt good to be able to show up after a day of not using. I did have a little urge for crack after I dropped my children off at their home, but I let it pass and now it's gone.

I have made it through my first day clean, and sober. again.

i sound like a broken record when I think about my upteenth DAY 1. a good friend said i should write a book and name it "day 1".

i'm gonna surf around some other posts before turning in.

it really feels good to have made the decision to stay clean today, just for today, and I hope (as i have so so many times), that this time it can lead to change and healing and recovery.

Getting rid of the alcohol is a good step forward.

Ksplash, the important thing is that you keep trying. Never give up!

Come and join us on the "chronic" thread. There's loads of support there. I'm just finishing up another day 1 myself, so we can support each other in the coming days!

PAt yourself on the back. That is HUGE! I was never able to do that until this most recent relapse. And then my Dad stood by my side as I dumped the bottle down the drain. That takes strenth! And it means you (we) want to LIVE!

Good for you!!!!

Alcohol isn't my problem but crack was. The urges come, but the more time you stay away from it, the less they come and you eventually realize you really don't want that crap!

Don't be hard on yourself....day 1 is a GOOD thing!

Hugs and prayers!

Good work Ksplash, I tipped my bottles out a few times and usually ended up crying about it. Stick with it.
