Speaking of steps.....

What are the recommended ways for us to work our steps?

Is there one online that we can chat about like an online book club?

Or do we just do those with our sponsor?

Thanks in advance

A sponsor is definitely a good thing, but there are other things you can do as well...

12 STEPS RECOVERY AND SUPPORT FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF A.A. AND N.A.

this site has lots of great information, as well as links to individual pages for each step... there's even questions that you can go through and answer on your own. It even has links to the big book, as well as tons of other useful resources.

Hope that helps

In case anyone who is new to all of this is reading this thread, keep in mind that on the resources on the site I referenced the material often mentions alcohol as the problem. This material was originally developed for AA, but you can, and should, take out "alcohol" and put in "drugs," "codependancy," whatever else the culprit may be. Just thought I would clarify!

If you are interested in working the steps with an Al-Anon book - I have used the book "Paths to Recovery" for my step work & most of the people I work with (sponsees) use that book also.

It breaks down each step, gives info, then ask questions.

You can also work with an on-line sponsor if you would like - Just my e, s, & h - it is usually better to have the support of a sponsor f2f (face to face) or on-line when working thru the steps.

Best wishes for your on your spiritual step study - it is a wonderful experience to Serenity and Joy,
Rita

There's an online step study right here on the forum:

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ependents.html

Each of the 12 Steps has its own thread. Readings from some of the Al Anon books are included along with really good questions taken from Paths to Recovery. You can comment on any of the step threads or ask questions.

With that said, I love my face to face Step Study meeting that I attend. We discuss a different step each week. I also found a small group where I could work the steps in depth... and my angel sponsor was incredibly helpful, patient, encouraging.
