That's wonderful! Congratulations! I too did the inpatient medical detox program for six days. Then it was 2 weeks PHP from 9 to 4, then 3 weeks of IOP from 9 to noon. I highly recommend this program to any and all who really want to give sobriety their best shot. Good luck to you. Keep coming back and posting. This is a great place for support! ((HUGS))

Perhaps your doctor can get you into another PHP program with people more like you. I really do recommend it. The support there is invaluable and you will bond with others who are in the same situation you are. Not to mention the coping skills you will learn while there. It may be different with you, but I really needed that time away from "the world" to work on ME, and strengthen my mind and body. If it is at all possible for you to do, I just can't recommend it strongly enough. It's tough out there, and the more support you have, the better.

Congratulations! Keep it up. I have done 6 day detoxs also. It really is only the tip of the iceberg. I hope you start a real structured program to keep up the good work. It really helps. Be willing to do whatever it takes. You are saving your life.

congrats - yes, things in general do get better and better, but watch your triggers and don't let your guard down. I know this is a cliche, but keep focusing on one day at a time.
