Update and decisions
Hi everyone, just wanted to share. I'm finally sleeping better, and I started counseling at my University Center. Yesterday was the most "me" I've felt in months
I finally wrote my friend and told him I have to drop out of the play he's producing. I know it's the right thing, as I won't have the time and the interest isn't there, plus it would be 3 months with a group of alcoholics.
But I'm avoiding reading my email, because as a people pleaser who fears disappointing people I'm dreading the response. But I feel better having done it.
Progress!

Angelus this is great news that you are feeling better!
Keep moving forward it will get better!
I have learned to say no which was a hard thing to learn!
However it has made my life much more manageable! Feels great!

Congrats, Angelus -- so glad you're taking care of yourself.
You know, I've been in recovery for a long time and have been in business for myself for a dozen years, and I STILL get a little queasy when I have to give someone bad news. You'll be happy to know that I'm avoiding email today myself, because I had to tell someone they have to stop waffling on a project and pay us, like, Now.
But over time it's reduced to just a minor inconvenience, like having to eat my vegetables...your discomfort will fade away in time as you practice, practice, practice putting your dreams before those of others.
Hugs,
GL
