Filled with hope and cookies.
Today I'm filled with hope (I could put this in the NA/Substance abuse forum, but I'm putting it here.)
- A friend that I've been talking with, who a few months ago was facing criminal charges and still believed he was a casual drinker, and who I've seen struggle with sobriety from day one, has a sponsor and 6 days sober today, which is the longest he's had since he started drinking. I'm proud of him for not giving up on the program.
- I talked with a girl tonight, who has a baby and was just left by her husband. She flushed her remaining drugs and called a helpline, and made a new clean friend.
- A friend of mine celebrated two years clean with her daughters tonight. She has made it through losing her mother, a dear friend, getting engaged, stress at work, and preparing to move halfway across the country- all in one year, and has made it through clean.
... also I have chocolate chip cookies. Today's a good day to be clean.

what great things to have happen! I commend the lady who "flushed" her stash. it was my flushing night too..........guess it was going around. It's great that you have awesome friends, who you are able to be there for. (as a good, clean influence)
