Smile mj's problem

hi i am a twenty nine year old mother of two who has been smoking pot continusly for around 11 years straight out..i did not smoke it while i was pregnant but always started again after they were both born.. my son is now four and i am finding it harder and harder to give this addiction up.i just want to know how other heavy pot smokers gave up and how long did it take to get over the cravings and withdrawals...if any one can give me a few starting tips that would be fantastic....

mj I am not trying to blow you off, but when it comes to drugs you may find far more sage advice here http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/substance-abuse/ Most but not all of the folks here are alcoholics, I am, I found sobriety, peace and happiness in AA, you may want to consider NA a sister program of AA.

I definitely suggest NA- I've found a lot of support there to quit a variety of substances- pot included. If having someone watch the kids is an issue- some meetings have childcare there, or you can just bring them with you.

Hi MJ

I found the first 3 days were almost unbearable. After that it got easier. It was about 60 days when I realized I wasn't even thinking about it anymore. Now I'm over 7 months... or is it 8? I 99% don't miss it at all - and I was a daily heavy user for 15 years.

Good luck!!

MJ I just noticed where you are from, if they do not have NA there you may want to consider going to "Open" AA meetings.
