Question Yo all, hi, I'm down to 12.5mg of Lamictal.

Hi all, could use some support all... how is everyone else? Anyone going through any Lamictal withdrawal? I'm going through it right now, it is not easy... can cry at the drop of a hat, only Day 14 off booze... I just need to vent out my feelings and what I'm feeling... I feel a nervousness in my chest/body, I feel scared/worried about unrealistic things that could happen.... short of breath, and just having a hard time. Anyone going through anything like this or having a hard time as well? I haven't talked to anyone lately about my issues so some input would be nice :ghug3 umm I hope I can get off this Lamictal, man I was better before I ever went on this CRAP... I just can't believe how much worse my life feels right now... feel like I can't focus, concentrate, have trouble with numbers, I feel like a ******** child who is fully aware of the problems... jeez. It's crazy.

hey Paulos - sorry to hear it's still a rough go for you.

When I came off meds - I did it gradual ...
an only experienced feeling BETTER as it (the doseage) got lighter and lighter.

I had an overall GOOD feeling ...
and an inner 'knowing' I was doing the right thing.

I actually don't know *what* to say to you other than ...
I hope it gets better for you?

I mean, do you find youre interests are sharper doing this?
I am talking about things that the medication had interferred with the enjoyment of.
Like for me it was writing and drawing and the ability to listen to the radio.
I don't mean yicky top-40-buy-this-and-that-like-a-sheep-radio -
I mean NPR ... like news, people reading books, long documentary type shows.

That's what happened with me.

(((Paulos)))
Did you talk to your doctor to find out what the withdrawals *could* be?
Or are your fears just your anxieties because you don't know?

I hope you feel better soon,
And if you don't,
Please consult your doctor.

Keep us informed. We care.

Shalom!

I know about the withdrawals... no my interests seem still pretty dimmed... I feel bad going off the withdrawal but it was worse when my doc had me go off it like 50mg off it at once... this time I'm doing better with the WITHDRAWAL but I feel like crap mentally and scared... and helpless, the only thing I can do is stay off drinking and the med... it's like that's my life.

Just curious - have you considered stopping one substance at a time so withdrawals aren't so bad? Like cut out booze for a month or two, then once you are feeling back to (near) normal, slowly wean from the Lamictal, then the others... doing it all at once is really tough on the body, no wonder you feel so awful!

Well sobergirl it's okay because the Lamictal was making it horrible on me either way, I HAD to stop it... it was like a BAD HABIT and it was just a drug that wasn't even giving me any help. I'm down to 12.5 anyway so I'm almost done off it. Sadly I'm back on Day 1, but I'm proud to be on it... I don't have a lot of optimism about my scene because I'm a depressed case a lot honestly, always worrying about what I am and am not... what could happen and what could not... but the Lamictal made that worse, a year of trying medications, only made me worse off.
