Heading North for the Weekend

It's a long weekend here in Canada and I'm heading out very early tomorrow and won't be back until Monday evening sometime.

I'm heading north to God's country, north of Lake Superior, and to a little island up there that I have grown fond of. I'll bring back pictures and share

Just thought I'd mention that in case anyone wonders where the Codie Bus went.

Happy weekend everyone, remember to be good to yourself.

Hugs

Your takin' the bus????

J/K Take the bus. I just don't see how your gonna be able to
keep gas in the darn thing.

We're at 4 bucks a gallon here in Cincy. You'd be better off ridin'
a bus and lettin' someone else do the drivin'. It'd be cheaper.
lol

Have a safe and wonderful trip, Ann. We'll be waitin' here
for ya. Can't wait to see the pics. You know I love'em.

((((Ann)))

Have a great time, and I can't wait to see the pictures.

I just actually got back from New York City....dad had some freight to deliver and I rode along to help him drive. Can't remember which state I was in, but went through the town of "Annville"

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

We had a wonderful time, the weather was a bit of everything but mostly sunshine and nice.

I love the country in the north. We found a lot on St. Joseph Island, in the north channel of Lake Huron and we are thinking about buying and may build our retirement home there. It's right on the water with sandy beach in front and I think I could like living there just fine.

Lake Superior is rugged and unspoiled by development in most areas.

This is on the way to St. Joseph Island, the north channel of Lake Huron. It had rained briefly and we were escorted onto the island by a lovely rainbow.

Hiya Ann, welcome back.

I have a small question...is St. Joseph Island only accessible by boat?
Or is there road access?

(sure looks pretty....)

Okay I mapped it, looks like one road over, eh?

Hey, we'll be neighbors!
(kinda sorta...)

There is a long causeway kind of bridge joining the mainland (at Desbarats) to St. Joseph Island. It's an awesome view coming on to the island.

And yes, Moose, we will be almost neighbours in the north...well it's a few hours away but we passed right by the turn off to Moose Island and Codie Lake

Here's the bridge...

Ann - you make Codie Bridge, FAR too appealing!

What incredible scenery!

I love my wine valley, northern california is pretty of course, but I'm from up north, and craggy rocks and fir trees, big lakes, etc. all hold so much appeal to me still (especially after our recent heat-wave)! You are making me "Pine" for northern climes!

Any more pics?

LOL, don't get me started.

This is a very pregnant deer who was waiting to welcome us to some property we looked at....

This is the beach in front of the lot we are considering. The lot is about 600 feet deep and is on the sheltered south side of the island. Lakefront property is dirt cheap up there and something in me just cannot resist buying some and building a retirement house there.
