Anvil had posted about that on another thread, and I've told everyone about it. Thanks for the link, because it's something that will bring a smile to my face, no matter how many times I see or hear it.

Character, proud of them, doing the right thing, stepping up to the plate, doing what is right no matter the cost. Sportsmanship.
What Character those players have. WOW!
and both coaches seeing and speaking of how proud they are of the girls.
May they all go far and show the world what true Character really is.

Rivals carry injured player around bases after her 1st homer
PORTLAND, Ore. - With two runners on base and a strike against her, Sara Tucholsky, of Western Oregon University, uncorked her best swing and did something she had never done, in high school or college. Her first home run cleared the centerfield fence.
But it appeared to be the shortest of dreams come true when she missed first base, started back to tag it and collapsed with a knee injury.
She crawled back to first but could do no more. The first-base coach said she would be called out if her teammates tried to help her. Or, the umpire said, a pinch runner could be called in, and the homer would count as a single.
Then, members of the Central Washington University softball team stunned spectators by carrying Tucholsky around the bases Saturday so the three-run homer would count -- an act that contributed to their own elimination from the playoffs.
:ghug
Feeling sorry for myself this morning before I read that Irena Sendler died:

She wrote the names of all those babies down on slips of paper, put them in a jar and buried them in a friend's backyard so she could reunite them with their parents after the war. And she says she has regrets because "she did so little."
I'm crying again just thinking about it....
Done, thanks for the great link!

I've used about a box and a half of tissues...The first box for the video and the second half for the followup Anvil posted here. I'm still blubbering. What wonderful wonderful kids! We really do need much more media focus on all the wonder in the world and less on the baloney and back stabbing and litigious nonsense.
Thanks Done!!
