Rock bottom
Many times after something earthquaking happens in the addicted loved ones life a friend or family member will ask, hope, think, wonder
Rock bottom is like labor
Many times a woman will experience what seems to be real labor only to find out it was not, but when real labor does begin you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is real and after all the pain, blood, sweat and tears you will give birth to a beautiful little baby.
Rock bottom to me, is much like that ... a multitude of false alarms can apprear to be rock bottom, but when and if the addict does reach true rock bottom YOU will know he/she will know because after all the pain, blood, sweat and tears the addict will give birth to recovery. And just like a newborn baby you will be able to see it, smell it, touch it and adore it .. Recovery will make you smile and light up just like a newborn baby does.
True recovery bears fruit.
Same goes for the codie who wonders when is enough .. enough?
You'll know believe me you will .. unmistakenly so ... the urge to push will be so intense and you will not be able to stand it anymore .. you'll push all that stuff that has been standing in the way of change, OUT and you'll give birth to a new life!
