My Son has passed
Unfortunately, the body that was discovered has been confirmed to be my son. I am devastated and heartbroken.
I just don't know why this had to happen this way. He was only 22 years old. He had the rest of his life ahead of him.

I have been watching this thread since the beginning. I am so sorry for your confirmation. I have been around smack forever, and Stephen didn't even know he had a Mom, in the throws of his addiction.
I am sure he was a gorgeous, beautiful, loving soul - just ambling along, not knowing it.
I have an 11 year old boy, and to think that one day I might get the same horrific news.....
Take care with yourself, and dump on me whenever you feel like it - I am going through nothing like this at the moment, and can help out as much as possible

I am so incredibly sorry to hear this ... words just can't express. Every time we lose someone to this disease, it is just heartbreaking. I pray you will find some comfort in the days ahead, knowing your Stephen is at peace and suffers no more.

Words cannot express how very much my heart cares and goes out to you today.
I have no good answers, we aren't meant to know why, but I think that God loves all his children, including his addicted children, and sometimes loves them enough to take them home where they will suffer no more.
May it bring you some little comfort to know how much we love you and care, and that you and your family will be in our hearts and prayers today and over the days to come.

during the years, your laughter, tears and experience surely brightened someone's day
now it is our turn to hold you close and support you during this devastating time
when you feel ready please share a little of your son with us
remind us of his sense of humor or his Little League career...
