30 Days Since My Surrender Date
Today marks the 1 month point of the day that I surrendered. I know most people have "a sobriety date", and one day soon I'll have one of those as well. I have been told that some people consider their sobriety date as the day they surrendered. However, as usual I want to be a little different from everyone else. I will have a "surrender date" and a "sobriety date". If you add this together with my birthday which also happens to be a little under 30 days from now, I will have 3 occasions to celebrate. Which means I get to have 3 cakes, 3 wishes, 3 celebrations and an endless amount of friendship and support from all of you!
Also in one month, I will turn the big 3-0. Anyone else believe in the significance of the number 3? I certainly do. This is going to be my year!
Thank you to all who have been there for me! There have been countless nights in the chatroom when we've laughed, we've cried, and we've told one another secrets we have rarely revealed. All of this has had significant meaning to my recovery.
This coming Tuesday, April 22, I will be starting on suboxone. I appreciate all the prayers and support that I can get from all of you.
Thanks again to all for everything! And to the recent newcomers I have met, you will see just how much SR can help. So keep coming back no matter what!

19 Congratulations on the 30
the date for me...
it doesn't mater how long i have, what does is my surrender/sobriety date...
the day i first surrendered, and the day i really surrendered 100%
my first surrender it took 12 days to put it all down and detox from all of it!!!
what matters, is the date...
"i will not forget it..."
if i do, i'm destined to use again!
good wishes 19

SP, so many reasons to celebrate! One of them being your 30 days here, bringing compassion and commitment to this community. Thank you for being there and congratulations on your effort towards sobriety.
