Welcome to SR Katecan, glad you're here! I think most of us feel like we need to be here. After all, I didn't wake up this morning and decide that life was so great that I'd top it off with an AA meeting! :rof

Hi Katecan - I need to be here too. SR has saved my life. I wasn't sober when I joined 8 months ago, but I was fascinated by this place and so I kept reading everyone's stories and it all finally sunk in. I knew all along what I needed to do, but I wouldn't have had the courage to do it without the amazing help and support I've found here. It's wonderful that you've found us.
Thanks for the warm welcomes. Both hubby and I are alcoholics. He drinks openly and I hide it for the most part. A few years ago I attempted to quit, went to AA, started on the program, got a sponsor etc..., but I became resentful because he continued to drink and so I started up again. I can't take the hangovers any more for one. I feel unhealthy, body, mind and spiritually these days. It's also a really good time for me to get serious and turn my life around. Hubby got a job where he will be gone 5 days a week or more from home. I won't have the stress of his drinking to deal with 24/7. So, here I go, I'm ready. Last drink was Saturday.
