The Longer, The Harder

i am finding that i have been sober 3 months and as each day goes on i have been finding it harder people say that the first week is the hardest but i think the first week is the easiest because you are so fogged up from the booze or drugs, you don't think of much as the weeks goes on and your brain becomes clearer i find, i start to think alot of what i have done, and realize alot more, can anyone relate to this

The first week of stopping can be hard because of addiction and habit. Dealing with the changes in life in the moment.

Beyond that...yes we start to deal with life itself.
The best way to get past the many feelings we gather in those days is by working the steps.
I did this...I feel like crap
I didn't do this...I feel like crap.
They must hate me now...I feel like crap
I want a beer because I feel like crap.

What I have found... we learn how to fix what we can and we learn how to forgive where we must. Starting with self.
Just don't drink is the best thing I did till I learned a better way.
This too shall pass is a truth. You will find the answers and find the better life.
Just don't pick up the first one is the key.

Yes, this happened to me also. And it was because I stayed sober long enough to think of what I was doing Helped me.

So, to me it looks like you are on the right track. I know looking back can hurt but it is part of recovery.

It gets better with time. And it is soooo worth it.

its like i am 100% sure the non-drinking non-using me is a 100% better person than the drinking using me....

Simply dealing with life's issues not revolved around drinking has free'd me enough in three days....
