O.T Question

Hi Everyone,

For all you people out there on the dating scene. What are the rules today if a guy asks you our for dinner, let him pay or dutch treat?

Thanks Ngaire

I would say definately let him pay. My viewpoint is if he asks you on a date, he pays. If you both arrange to meet up and eat, go dutch!

Today, I ask. I'm pretty comfortable in my own skin - so a simple "are we going dutch or is someone treating?" said with a smile seems to work.

Have fun!

I always offer to pay half. No one has ever taken me up on it. I think most guys assume they will be paying, but plenty of men in my office said they appreciate that a girl offers even though they won't let them pay in the end. It tells them you don't expect to be taken care of. At least that's what they tell me. I guess when I start dating again I can answer this better : )

I've taken Denny's approach and it was very well received. I've also tried to pay half, and when rebuffed, stated that I'd like to take "him" out to a great little unknown place I know about, my treat, next time. Also very well received. And then there's always the "you buy dinner? How about if I get the movie?" But that's later on.

I always want to keep things relaxed, equal, and fun.

Of course, I'm pretty non-traditional
