Sister is clean today for 60 days!
Just wanted to share. Today my sister has 60 days clean.
We are slowly building our relationship again. I'll always love my sister and soon I may start liking her again.
Here's to hope and working my program! When I let go, she was able to make her own choice. For that I am grateful!

What a Blessing!
I don't know if you read my thread that I posted on April 1. The Title, 4/1/91 My Sister Died.
I lost my little sister in '91 to this disease.
She died of cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 26.
She was to go into a treatment program on April 3.
Instead, that's the day we buried her.
Love and Support your Sister.
Next time you see her, give her a hug for me.
Remember, if she should stumble, lend a hand, but don't think you can pick her back up.
She'll have to do that on her own.
God Bless You Both,
Judy

60 days is major ! Have you told her you are proud of her accomplishments? Becasue I see that you are.
In my exper., the addict is just the one the spotlight is on.
It can be the very springboard for recovery in other family members.
There is a lot to see and do when we pan that spotlight out to the rest of us.
The silver lining in my son's addiction, is that the pain it caused me allowed me to
change things about myself.
Your own recovery shines here AZTCHER !!!

I'm so happy for you, can "hear" you smiling through your words! No sisters or brothers, I envy those of you with siblings you actually like and like being with! I know that's not always the case. All the best in BOTH of your recoveries!
