Day Number Five
Well, with a LOT of support from people on this forum, I have made it through to Day 5. The third day was not good, but I am beginning to feel better and stronger.
Physically, I think I have more or less completed withdrawal, other than the fact that sleeping is still tricky. But I am more relaxed about that, and expect it to get better slowly over time. The feeling of hangover has gone, and most of my aches and pains have subsided. Hopefully, I am now in for the long run and can really start to work on my recovery and the reasons why I used to drink. I hope that I will never be complacent, as I remember how easy it is to slip back if the real issues are not addressed.
Thanks for the support I have received
Great Escape
PS Even at this early stage, I am working harder and getting more done! Now...where's that halo?
