I've spent the last week writing and rewriting a letter to my SO who is in rehab right now. I used the advice you guys gave me. Made it short and sweet. Basically told him I can't accept him back into our lives right now and that his actions over the next months will tell me exactly where he is at and if he is in recovery. I told him to finish his 28 days, go to a Sober house and do his outpatient therapy, get a job, respect himself and live in the present. I feel good that I got that done. I can't and won't write him off totally.....we had 5 good years together before he picked up and I can't forget those years. But the last 2 are in the forefront of my memory and I won't let it happen again to me and my family. One of the differences with us is that he was sober for 17 years before he picked up. He knows what to do. BUT I will not do it with him.
