BOO!
Yeah I went through that stuff. I was real jumpy, I kept thinking someone was coming up behind me. Any sudden loud noise sent my heart up my throat and out of my ears.
Thanks for reminding of the good times Rob.

Yeah, I had them. Didn't concern me too much because I knew I was de-toxing and I used to "trip" so hallucinating is otherwise enjoyable.
I had Auditory hallucinations too. It sounded like there was an AM radio somewhere in the house, with a talk show host yapping away, only I couldn't make out what they were saying.
Thanks fr reminding me where I came from. De-tox is Hell.

Oh yeah.....visual and auditory halucinations. Mine were very similar to what you described....seeing things out of the corner of my eye, unable to read anything because the words moved around on the page, stuff like that.
Hang in there. It DOES get better.:ghug2

I have them here on day 2. I have accepted this. Rapid heart rate too. Yesterday was worst. These things in past attempts freaked me out and made me drink. I will tie myself to the bedpost if I have to I am not drinking.
Thanks for posting.

Rob have you seen a doctor yet?
A lot of folks die detoxing without medical supervision, the DT's come on quicker then you can pick up the phone and call the ER. heart attacks wait for no one!

I was detoxing and I didn't even know it until I read some messages here on this site. I saw a huge spider floating in my bedroom and it landed on my closet door and crawled into my closet and I was terrified to open my closet door the next morning. Another time I kept hearing loud voices as if I was watching a sporting event. Terrible. Glad that's over. I haven't had a drink in almost 3 weeks. 3 weeks ago, I got a DUI. I've been drinking for for 22 years and this was the 1st time. This was a rude awakening for me b/c I know it's just going to get worse if I continue and I have a great job and I need my license and now I have to face DUI charges and probably lose my license for 6 months. Absolutely not worth it. But I see it as a lesson and maybe this is what I needed to wake up and smell the coffee.
yes. and gflashes ocf color, like someone taking my pic with a colored flash... and like GP... I kept a tape of Joe and Charlie going full time becuse of all the OTHER stuff I was 'hearing'.
IT was the only way I could sleep.
you DO have the doc on call, right? Rob?

I lived alone on a ranch...
and kept going to the door thinking someone was on the deck...
or that it was car doors slamming out past the garage.
wow.
I'd forgotten about that.
It goes away, Rob!
