Hi Everyone,
I am a newcomer again to regain my sobriety. Thoughout my alcoholism I stayed sober first one year on my own, then 2 years on my own, and then I was dually diagnosed with PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Chronic Pain, and of course alcoholism. I need support. I live in an area in Canada that is remote, I am a professional. I relasped last March on the 26th, 2006. Today will be day 3 for me and I hope to again make this as permanent as any disease that can be put into remission, 10 days shy of one full year again battling my demons. I am in my mid 40's, without family support as they have all disowned me. I have no one to talk to about my illnesses and disease. I need a sponsor, whom I am able to just say, scream and shout about issues and fighting the urge to give up again. If a long time female or females close to my age could assist me, I would be at your mercy to do what I have to do so I will not take that first drink.
Sincerely
Vcky (and yes this is my dog's name I am using)
Please help

I am now on day six of being sober. I've slipped too many times since coming out of rehab last month. THis time I"m determined to make it - one day at a time. You too can make it one day at a time. Good luck to you.:ghug
Vcky, I think I may be able to "fit the bill" so to speak.
I'm a 45 year old female
By the Grace of God, next Tuesday, one week from today, I will celebrate 2 years and 8 months Clean, Sober and Free!
I had used for 32 years, in and out of brief periods of Clean and Sober time since my first treatment and into the rooms of AA in 1980.
I've been diagnosed with PTSD as well as depression and have chronic, severe pain due to Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus.
And I'm definately an alcoholic and an addict to boot!
I live in Ohio, but I would be happy to share my experience, strength and hope with you while you continue to search for a Sponsor in your area. I will gladly share emails with you as long as you would like a friend in Recovery who does understand.
I'll send you a personal message here as soon as I submit this with my email address. Makes for easier communication.
Hang in there. There is a great deal of support and Sobriety here on SR. Remember, you are not alone.
I think you will see that by the answers you get to this thread.
God Bless & Thank God . . . Just for Today,
Judy

Welcome Vcky!!! I have found that contributing to this site, whethere it be about myself or writing on others' threads, is very theraputic. There are very nice people here (perhaps if the world was full of people you find on here it would be a better place) that have recognized they have a problem and wish to share their journey when needed by others.
