How to stop withdrawl headaches?

Any tips on how to stop severe headaches due to alcohol withdrawl??

My b/f is due for detox in a week and he has had a few drinks now and again to stop severe headaches hes getting. He has no job and is struggling for money and cant afford to buy alcohol at the moment but his headaches are getting too much. He just wants to get drunk to stop them but cant.

Painkillers dont touch the pain, any ideas??

copious amounts water. 4 advil. a turkey sandwich with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, suns of italy hoagie sprea (call em hot cherries), salt & pepper on toasted wheat bread with a cup of chicken noodle soup and a handful of crackers let that settle & drink 2 cups off WaWa coffee (or any other brand for that matter) preferably mixing the hazelnut with the french vanilla. That should do it. Drinking booze will only cure the headache short term.

Sam,

Your bf really should see a doctor. Abrupt alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous.

Please don't mix alcohol with pain killers.
Even a little alcohol can be dangerous with them.

Severe headaches need medical atention.

Good luck to both of you

Hes being stubborn right now. Any suggestions are not good enough atm, so i give up! He doesnt react well to these headaches and i end up with one cos hes in such a bad mood.
Have suggested the docs but he just says 'what can they do.........nothing,whats the point'
I know hes wrong but what can i do. I know he just wants a beer which i dont mind but he'll get hammered not just have a couple and i wont pay for him to do that.
