Hi

I'm not new to recovery but am new to soberrecovery.com. I visited a few years ago, and the place looked like chaos. It seems to have calmed down a lot.

I am almost 50. I am not alcohol abstinent but have cut back considerably (apologies to the "drink and die" crowd - but I'm doing okay). My current life is filled with remodel work on what could be the nightmare edition of "This Old House." I recently remarried my husband of 30 years. My two dogs (one is a rescue pooch we adopted last week) keep me pretty busy too. I'm a college student too.

And I love gardening. And kayaking.

Hi SpringRose,

Welcome to SR!

Sounds like you have a great life going on. I'm 50 this year too, and have cut back over the years, but I still drink. It's nice to hear it works for some, I'm still undecided about myself.

Look forward to seeing you around.

Steve

One day I too will drink again, you give me hope (thats my "ism" talking to me again), welcome to the forum. Jack and Coke twist a lime crushed ice (there it goes again).

Hi SpringRose, welcome to SR. I used to love gardening and kayaking, maybe when summer comes it will be time to get back into them.

Why would you wish to do that?
