Making Excuses

Thank you all! I am finding myself making excuses to try and wean myself off Meth another words find an excuse to use!!! I am trying to rationalize that if I smoke just ONE bowl it will make me feel better physically and I can proceed with getting clean. Is this common or am I doomed to failure?

Oh yes. Well, I am a recovering alcoholic, but omigosh, I was determined to cut down slowly. I spent about a year trying to do that! It was always so much easier to say I was cutting down and by next week, I'd be done. Of course, next week never came. And, you know what, all I did was obsess about it. It was so freeing when I finally just stopped.

Being aware of your addict mind speaking to you is a huge step forward Pebbles.

You're doing great!

Pebbles

Totally common and totally bulls**t. Not you, the thoughts. Doubt if there is anyone here who hasn't entertained that notion. those who go through with it ARE NOT here.

Peace

Pebbles, you said it yourself:

MY DOC was meth. It is not easy to quit. I was not a everyday user and it took alot of no no to myself. Depending on how much you smoke you are going to need to go to meetings and give the meth up cold turkey. You just cannot think you can slowly get off them or just stop and when you feel like you can handle it to back to the meth.

Well, for me, to cut down would indicate that I have control over my usage, and that just wasn't the case for me!
