Someone mentioned free rehab once. Where can you find these?

salvation army has a program.

or google your state and the words "free drug rehab" and lots of stuff will come up.

NA and AA are great programs and they are free as well.

Also, call your local Mental Health dept. in your local hospital. They should be able to steer you in the right direction.

I met a guy in treatment last summer that attended some federal program in D.C. that's free to all comers. I can't recall the details but I'm sure you could find it on Google or something.

Sometimes the county the addict lives in has "charity funding" they offer to pay for treament (for this, call the Dept of Drug & Alcohol, or Dept of Social Services). Sometimes, the facility/hospital itself offers "charity care"- (for this, you gotta ask each indivdual detox/rehab if they offer this).

welcome to the wonderful world of making endless phone calls! but eventually, they do find a place that will take them and somebody else pays for it.

for my part, I don't mind my taxes going to treatment for those that can't afford it or have no insurance- if they manage to get and stay clean as a result, there is so much less suffering all around.

A place that I know of is called Cenikor. It is a 2 year inpatient rehab. You can google it. Good luck
