One of my codie issues and ACOA issue is I isolate. I learned this lesson quite well when I was small and then had it reinforced many times by my AH. I am going through a divorce and every other weekend he has the kids from Friday at 5 PM until 7AM Monday. At first those weekends were hell and I would get a lot of my crying out of the way as I spent the entire weekend alone. Now, six months into this, I view it as a time to recharge my mommy batteries and a time for the kids to be with their dad, yet I am mostly alone. So they just left and I felt like crying. Instead of dissolving into a puddle, I called someone from my Alanon group and shared. This is the first time I have reached out and she didn't bite. She and I are going to plan to do something and I am so proud of myself for reaching out. I'm done with suffering in silence and isolation. I am going to make a new life for myself.
